Parade for Astoria and Knappa Football Teams Monday!

Astoria Mayor Willis Van Dusen says a parade is scheduled for Monday, December 8th at 3:30 pm to celebrate two local high school football teams-- Knappa, who won the state championship and Astoria, who plays for their state championship on Saturday.

The mayor says the parade will begin from behind the former armory by the Astoria Moose Lodge on 17th Street, parade down Duane to City Hall and head back. He says after the parade, both football teams, coaches and the public are invited to the gym at Astoria High School. Van Dusen says the parade will happen, rain or shine, and regardless of the outcome of Saturday's championship game.

Astoria High School is accepting donations to cover the costs of a celebration in Corvallis after Saturday's game and for the post-parade celebration at Astoria High School for both the Knappa and Astoria football teams. You can make your donation at the high school.
