...A little history...
KVAS has been playing country music since signing on the air for the first time in 1953. Back then there were two kinds of music. Country and Western. KVAS played a mix of both with the early years focused on what was then the emerging sound of western music. Inventor Ed Parsons put KVAS on the air. Parson is credited with the development of the first successful cable television system. A small monument to that achievement can be found on the grounds of the Astoria Column. KVAS AM 1230 became an important part of Astoria community life when a gentleman named Chuck Farmer bought the station. Farmer was quite innovative for his time introducing the first call-in talk show in the community and adding a specialty music show featuring nothing but an hour of Scandinavian music as a nod to that large local ethnic community.

In 2002 KVAS moved from AM 1230 to FM 103.9 and brought along a new generation of country music fans who love the sound of new country or as it's known, "Today's Country." The station has adopted the national symbol of America and now calls itself "The Eagle." Over the last few years the station has grown in prominence in the Nashville scene and has sponsored a series of concerts at Astoria's historic Liberty Theater bringing top stars here to perform live at the unique 600 seat venue.
Radio Advertising Works!
Radio Works for You! Build a bridge to your customers with radio advertising. How do people know to come to your business for your specific service? Have you sent EVERYONE in the surrounding areas a personal invitation to come to your business? How do they know the directions to get to your business or do they know the phone number? If you don't ask people to come to your business, why should they? With radio advertising you have an opportunity to talk people and be personable with your information and invitation. You can talk directly to them and appeal to their needs.

Radio is in thousands of homes, in every car, most businesses and radio is on the go in many portable units. Why waste air, use it to your advantage. Radio advertising is easy and cost effective. We can take your personal message and bring it to many people. With radio advertising your businesses invitation will go to the many surrounding areas that you are not reaching now and you will have many more potential customers.

The Eagle 103.9 features everything country listeners love.
